The course in Podiatry aims to prepare you as a future professional podiatrist by meeting the requirements of a population with regards to foot treatments, foot health promotion and foot care education. As a podiatrist, your knowledge and skills related to this branch of medicine will allow you to use your expertise in podiatry to help treat patients and alleviate them from disorders that are associated to the foot, ankle and lower extremity. The course provides the adequate knowledge required to make you a professional podiatrist, ranging from subjects such as general anatomy, podiatric dermatology, regional anatomy, renal physiology and haematology, podiatric clinical skills, nail pathologies and podiatric anaesthesia. You will be exposed to both theoretical and practical work, where you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge in a clinical setting. We encourage you to participate in an Erasmus+ programme for a more diverse learning outcome.
Communication and Academic Skills Programme
The communication and academic skills programme complements students’ main course of study. It introduces them to writing and presenting as situated within academic contexts sensitive to specific disciplines and develops their competences for future careers.
